How to give Google Analytics delegated access

Steps to Share Access on Google Analytics

1. Log Into Your Google Analytics Account

To begin, sign into your Google Analytics account.

2. Go to the Admin Section

Once you are logged in:

  • At the bottom left of your screen, click on the “Admin” gear icon.
  • You’ll be taken to the Admin page where you can manage account settings.

3. Choose the Property or Account You Want to Share

In the Admin panel:

  • Under the “Account” or “Property” column (depending on what you want to share), click on “Account Access Management” or “Property Access Management.”
  • This is where you’ll be able to add users and manage their roles.

4. Add a New User

Now, you can invite someone to access your account:

  • Click the blue “+” button in the top-right corner.
  • Select “Add users.”
  • Enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to.
  • Click on “Notify new users by email” so the user can receive a notification about that.
  • Choose their permission level:
    • None: No role is assigned.
    • Viewer: Can only view reports.
    • Analyst: Can view and create reports.
    • Marketer: Can edit audiences, conversions, events.
    • Editor: Can manage settings, create goals, and more.
    • Administrator: Full access to everything, including user management.

After selecting the role, click “Add.” The person will receive an email invitation to join your Google Analytics account.

5. Manage Who Has Access

You can view and manage access anytime:

  • Go back to “Account Access Management” or “Property Access Management.”
  • Here, you can change someone’s role or remove their access by clicking the options next to their name.
