The leaks you can't see from the inside

Membership sites that have run for a few years can pick up problems nobody planned. Each plugin, form and email made sense when it was added.

Problems like these rarely come with an error message. They tend to show up as churn, refund requests and support tickets, and from the inside they can look like how things have always been. We know where to check because we’ve been through a lot of these sites.

Who it's for

We built this for membership businesses that are already working, and want someone to tell them what they can’t see from the inside.

A good fit if

  • You run a membership, online course, association or community site on WordPress.
  • It's live, members are paying, and the business is past the hobby stage.
  • Something feels off but you can't pin it down: members cancel after the first month, logins generate support tickets, renewals fail, the site drags when you launch.
  • You're tired of being the person who has to know how everything is wired together.

Probably not yet if

  • You're still planning your first membership. Come back once it's live and earning; we'll be here.
  • Your site isn't on WordPress. Our expertise is WordPress, and we'd rather say so up front.
  • Something is broken right now and needs fixing today. An audit is the slow route; use our contact page instead.

What we look at

  1. Visit
  2. Sales page
  3. Checkout
  4. Login
  5. Member area
  6. Renewal

The path we follow on your site, the way a new member takes it.

We go through your site the way a prospective member does and take notes on everything that gets in the way. If you’d like us to look at the member area too, you can give us temporary admin access. It’s optional, and it lets us see a lot more.

1. The member journey

Your homepage and sales pages, joining, checkout and the login screen, plus the member area and account page if you give us temporary admin access. We follow the path a new member takes and mark every place they could get confused or stuck.

2. Speed and plugins

Speed tests on the pages that make you money: home, sales page, checkout and login. Page weight, and the plugins and scripts we can see loading from the outside.

3. How your offer is set up

Your pricing page, tiers, monthly versus annual, trials and upsells, and the cancellation path if your public pages show it or you give us temporary admin access.

4. The general health check

Your platform and hosting, SSL, security headers, and the email authentication records on your sending domain (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) that inbox providers check before they trust your member emails.

What you get

  • A recorded walkthrough of your site, narrated by the person who did the review. You see exactly what we saw, on your own pages.
  • A one-page summary of the top findings, each with what we found, why it matters, and what fixes it. Ranked by severity, so you know where to start.
  • A call to go through it, if you want one. Ask us anything about the findings. If it makes sense, we'll sketch what a growth plan for your site would look like.

Turnaround: within 3 business days of confirming your audit. We take on 3 free audits a month, so we confirm requests in the order they arrive.

What a finding looks like

Illustrative layout, not a real client

Severity

High

What we saw

The domain your welcome email is sent from has no DKIM record and no DMARC policy.

Why it matters

Gmail and Yahoo require authenticated mail from bulk senders, so welcome and login emails are more likely to land in spam. Members who never see their login details email support or ask for a refund.

What fixes it

Add DKIM and DMARC records for the sending domain and route mail through an authenticated SMTP service.

Why MemberFix

We’ve spent 12 years building, fixing and running WordPress membership sites. Membership sites break in their own ways: billing that drifts out of sync with access, logins that fail under launch traffic, emails that never arrive. A lot of it leaves traces you can spot from the outside.

  • Founded 2014. Trusted by 100+ membership sites.
  • A Memberium Certified Agency Partner, and listed by MemberPress as one of its trusted customization partners. MemberPress is also our best referral partner.
  • One team, start to finish. The people who review your site are the same people who would do the work.

Who you would be working with

Your audit is done by someone on this team, and if you hire us afterwards, these are the people who do the work.

How it works

1

Tell us about your site.

Two minutes. We ask about your platform, size and what's bugging you, so the review focuses on what matters to you.

2

We review it.

We confirm your audit, then a senior team member goes through your site and records the walkthrough. No admin logins needed.

3

You get the video and the summary.

Then book a call to go through it, or don't. Either way the findings are yours to keep.

What happens after

We’ll email once to ask if you’d like to go through the findings. After that it’s up to you. If you’d rather fix things yourself or with your own developer, that’s fine.

If you’d like help, there are two ways forward:

  • A deeper audit, with access to your site, when the free review turns up something that needs a look under the hood, like billing that doesn’t match access. See what’s in it.
  • A growth plan and ongoing support through Managed TechOps: one team that handles development, support and hosting for your site, month to month.

Request your free audit

Tell us a bit about your site. It takes about two minutes, and every question helps us focus the review.

We review sites that are already live and earning, so a few questions are about size. We use your answers to prepare your audit and follow up with you, as described in our privacy policy.

FAQ

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. The audit is how we show you what we can do. Some people hire us afterwards, some don’t, and the findings are yours either way.

Do I need to give you a login or passwords?

Not to get started. We review what a visitor can see. If you want us to look at the member area too, you can give us temporary admin access after we confirm your audit, and we’ll set it up with you. Everything you share stays private: we never share it with anyone, and we only use it to help you.

Who actually does the review?

A senior member of the MemberFix team, the same people who build and run membership sites for our clients. Not an automated scanner, and not a sales rep.

Which platforms do you cover?

WordPress membership and course plugins: MemberPress, LearnDash, Paid Memberships Pro, MemberMouse, Memberium, BuddyBoss, WooCommerce Memberships, Restrict Content Pro and others.

Why do you ask about revenue and member count?

The review is built for businesses that are already earning, and those answers help us focus it. Revenue has a “Prefer not to say” option.

How is this different from your paid audit?

The free audit looks at your site from the outside. The paid audit goes inside: billing reconciliation, server and hosting setup, security and every member flow, with a costed fix plan.
