Stop being your own head of engineering
One senior team that runs the technical side of your membership business
You did not start this business to chase a developer who has gone quiet, or to find out on a Sunday that checkout has been broken since Friday. One team handles your development, support, troubleshooting and planning, plus hosting if you want it.
- A named four-person pod who already know your site
- Updates and regression testing never eat your hours
- After-hours cover
- Month to month, and you keep everything
The call leads to a free audit of your setup. No cost, and no commitment to anything after it.
“100% I would recommend MemberFix. 100%. No, you guys killed it for us.”Chris Zaugg, The Global Leadership Network
Around 2,500 paying members moved onto MemberPress without a single one re-entering a credit card, timed around the biggest revenue week of their year. Read how
Clients include TechServe Alliance, The Global Leadership Network, Free Movement, YNot Sports and AT Parenting Survival.
The freelancer carousel
Most membership businesses past a certain size are running on an arrangement nobody designed. It works until the person who understood your setup is gone, nothing was written down, and the next one has to learn it from scratch on your time.
Competence, availability and honesty are three separate gambles, and you take all three every time you hire. YNot Sports came to us after a previous developer took $70,000 over several months and left nothing working.
“Right from the beginning, MemberFix was completely transparent about what and when they would deliver… I’ve always felt a sense of trust working with them.” Kevin Morris, YNot Sports
A developer who was great, then got busy with a bigger client
A second developer brought in for the thing the first one would not touch
A host whose support team says the problem is your plugins
A plugin vendor who says the problem is your host
You, in the middle, translating between all of them
This is not a care plan
Managed TechOps is a different category. It is a retained senior team that runs the technical side of your business the way an internal department would: named people who already know your site, a queue you can see, and someone accountable when something breaks.
Maintenance retainers update plugins, run backups, and email you a report. If that is what you need, they are a fine and cheap answer, and you should buy one. An agency sells you a pair of hands and leaves the thinking to you. Neither one is accountable for whether your business keeps running, and that accountability is the thing we are actually selling. The hours are just how we meter the work.
| Compared on | A maintenance retainer | A freelancer or agency | Managed TechOps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope | Updates, backups, uptime | Whatever is in the current scope | Development, support, hosting, troubleshooting, planning |
| Who does the work | An anonymous ticket queue | One person, until they are busy | A named four-person pod who already know your site |
| When something breaks | A ticket | Depends whether they reply | A named owner, an escalation path, and after-hours cover |
| Updates | Applied and hoped for | Not their job | Tested on staging first, free of your hours, and if one breaks something we fix it free |
| Planning | None | You bring them the plan | A weekly call where we set the priorities together |
| Continuity | Not their problem | Ends when they leave | The point of the whole model |
You get a team, not a ticket queue
Every account runs on a Continuity Pod. Four people, named, who know your site. More than one person knows your setup at any time, so your account survives a holiday, a resignation and a bad week.
You and your team
You escalate to us, we fix it, you stay the voice your members hear.
Tech Lead
Owns your account and does most of the work.
Co-Implementer
Works alongside the Tech Lead and covers when they are out.
Project Manager
Keeps the queue moving and keeps you informed.
Head of Ops
Your escalation point when something needs more than the day-to-day team.
This structure exists because we got it wrong the other way first. When we grew quickly and rotated people between accounts, clients had to re-explain their setup to a new face, and things got missed.
The people who will be on your site
The pod assigned to you comes from this group, and stays with your site.
Certified on the platforms we work on
From a patchwork of outdated systems to Managed TechOps
A national trade association running on a patchwork of outdated systems.
It ended with Managed TechOps:
- Staging-first plugin updates with regression testing written for their flows
- Proactive monitoring
- Monthly reporting
- Weekly pulse calls
- A bank of developer hours
“Responsive, collaborative, and willing to customize solutions to fit our needs… the end result is a much-improved user experience and a modern system we’re very pleased with overall.” Lori Fitzsimon, TechServe Alliance
All of the tech, under one roof
Development
New features, integrations, custom plugins, checkout and enrollment flows.
Support
The issues your team escalates to us. A member cannot log in, a payment did not sync, a page broke. We work with your team, not in front of your members.
Hosting
Through our sister company MemberHost, or on whatever host you already have. Most of our clients are on MemberHost, but the two are separate services and you are never required to move.
Troubleshooting
The problems that cross boundaries, where the plugin vendor and the host are each blaming the other.
Planning
What to build next, what to retire, and what is about to become a problem.
Word of Wellness International
After a migration done by someone else, 75 to 80% of members had never logged into the new site, months after it went live. 18 members logged back in within the first hour of the fix going live. A 50-hour rescue plan, delivered in 45.

Who this is for
A good fit if
- Your site is how your business makes money, and downtime costs you the same day
- You run a membership, course or community platform on WordPress
- You are past the point where one freelancer can hold it all
- You want a partner who tells you what to do, not an order taker
Not the right call if
- You need one project built and then nothing ongoing. Hire us hourly instead, and we will say so on the call.
- Plugin updates and backups are genuinely all you need. A maintenance plan will serve you fine and cost you less.
- You want the cheapest option. We are not it, and pretending otherwise wastes your time and ours.
How an engagement runs
It starts with a call, then a free audit. See what the audit covers.
Book a chat
We need access to your site to audit it, and you should know who you are handing that to. So we talk first.
A free initial audit
If we are a fit, we run a free initial audit of your member journey, performance, plugins and offer structure.
A growth plan
What is wrong, what it costs to fix, what it costs to leave alone, and what we would do first. If your setup needs a deeper paid audit before that, we say so and say why.
Your retainer
You choose what to fix. We size a monthly block of hours to that list and the pace you want, then work through it with you.
What your hours cover
Updates and testing are included on purpose. If we metered them, you would start rationing them, and rationing those is how outages happen.
Never comes out of your hours
- Updates, tested on staging first
- Regression testing
- Planning, and the weekly pulse call that keeps the queue prioritized
- Fixing anything one of our own updates broke
Comes out of your hours
- New development work from your list
- New troubleshooting, the problems that are genuinely new work
- Urgent requests from your team, which run alongside planned work and only push the roadmap if there are a lot of them. If that happens, we tell you.
What it costs
Managed TechOps is priced per engagement, and the price falls out of the audit rather than off a rate card.
You choose what gets fixed. Plenty of what we find is not worth fixing yet, and we will say so. Then we work out the hours per month to work through your list in priority order. We propose a retainer that matches those hours to your budget and the pace you want. Usually somewhere between 10 and 30 hours a month, though it goes either way.
A 2,500 member course platform with three integrations and a 40,000 member association with a custom CRM sync are not the same product, and pricing them as though they were would mean overcharging one of them.
The first look costs you nothing, whether or not you ever hire us for anything after it. The free initial audit looks at your member journey, your site’s performance and plugins, and how your offer is structured, and gives you a general overview of where things stand.
This is a premium service. The clients who end up here have usually already tried the cheap version, and it cost them a year.

Upsell take rate
We rebuilt the checkout and added a real cancellation flow. New subscriptions rose 23% in the second half of 2025 and another 22% in the first half of 2026.
“This recent launch my upsells went from 28% to 34% and the only thing that changed was the work you did on the checkout page.” Natasha DanielsRead the case study
Managed TechOps FAQ
How is this different from a WordPress care plan?
A care plan maintains a website. Managed TechOps runs the technical side of a business. Care plans cover updates, backups and uptime monitoring. We cover those, plus development, support, hosting, troubleshooting and helping you decide what to build next. If your site is a brochure, buy a care plan. If your site is your revenue, maintenance alone leaves you exposed in the places that cost money.
We already have a developer. Does this replace them?
Often not. Plenty of clients keep their developer and bring us in for reliability: change control, QA, updates, the integrations nobody wants to own, and a clear escalation path. Your developer keeps building.
Do you talk to our members?
No. We work with your team. You escalate to us, we fix it, you stay the voice your members hear.
What does it cost?
The first call and the initial audit cost nothing. After that it comes out of what we find: you pick what you want fixed, we work out the monthly hours that takes, and we propose a retainer to match. Usually somewhere between 10 and 30 hours a month, though it goes either way.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. Month to month, no minimum term and no lock-in. We would rather earn your business every month than hold you to a year of it.
What happens when the person who knows our site leaves?
This is what the Continuity Pod is for. Your account has a Tech Lead, a Co-Implementer working alongside them, a Project Manager and a Head of Ops, so more than one person knows your setup at any time and what they know is written down rather than living in one person’s head. We built it this way after learning the hard way what rotating people through accounts does to a client.
If we leave, what do we keep?
Everything. Your code, your documentation, your credentials, your hosting account. You own all of it and you keep full control throughout. Hosting and TechOps are complementary but separate, so leaving one does not trap you in the other.
Do you guarantee response times?
We offer credit-backed SLAs: agreed response times with a service credit if we miss them. Not every client wants one. We will tell you on the call whether we think you need it, based on what an hour of downtime actually costs you.
Can you take over our hosting?
Yes, through our sister company MemberHost, which is managed WordPress hosting built for membership sites. Most of our clients are on it. It is not required, and we are happy on whatever host you have, though we will tell you plainly if it is the thing holding you back.
