Let's suppose there are two ways of looking at “stuff”:

Abundance und Scarcity.

Here is how a person with an abundance mentality might look at the world:

I don't ever worry about messing up at work because I know that even if something were to go catastrophically wrong and it was my fault, there are dozens of jobs just as good, if not better, than this one waiting for me right around the corner.

Knowing this allow me to be indifferent to outcomes and simply present in my work.

I put a lot of energy into my relationships with others, yet I never insist or pressure people.

That's because I'd rather let people just be and if a relationship doesn't work out, there are millions of more great relationships waiting out there for me.

There's an abundance of money to be earned, fun to be had and life to be lived and everything is exactly as it should be.

This is how someone with a scarcity mindset might look at things:

I never seem to have enough money.

I cling constantly to the thought that I'm running out of everything and that if don't grab it, someone else will take it from under my nose.

This makes me edgy at work because if I mess up and get canned, I'll be out of a job and out of money and won't know what do.

I'll probably get evicted and wind up on the street.

It's impossible to get a place on such short notice in this city!

The relationships I find myself in always seem to deteriorate. I think it's because i'm so needy.

I'm afraid that my friends and lovers are going to get bored with me and leave and there just aren't very many quality people out there.

So I'm constantly trying to impress everybody so they'll think I'm great and stick around.

The opposite always happens.

These are two extreme examples. Real humans (i.e. not humanoid robots, holograms or Klingons) fall on a spectrum.

Here's the deal: if you think scarcity – you get it.

If you think abundance – you get it.

That's because your mind, once it's decided upon an idea as being the “right” one, finds evidence everywhere in your environment to support it.

You might say it's self-hypnosis or denial of reality. But reality can be very negotiable and you're lying to yourself either way; might as well stick with the best, most useful lies.

A good first step is to let go of your story and tell yourself a new one!

Is this one of those woo-woo law of attraction things? Yep.
