Integrate Kount with WooCommerce and Stripe – WordPress Plugin

How does Kount work with WooCommerce?

If you have a WooCommerce membership site or a webshop built with WooCommerce you may be struggling with chargebacks from fraudulent transactions.

So did one of our customers, until they found Kount.

Kount offers an AI-driven solution that prevents fraudulent transactions before they are approved.

But to work as advertised it needs to be properly integrated with your tech stack.

In our customer’s case, he wanted to integrate Kount with WordPress, WooCommerce, and Stripe.

As there were no existing integrations that would work with Stripe for Kount in the WordPress ecosystem, we decided to build our own and make it into a WordPress plugin.

We call our plugin, Kount with Stripe for WooCommerce.

Now you get to use it too. 🙂

What you’ll need

1 – A staging site – to install and test the plugin (we use CloudWays hosting for this)

2 – WooCommerce – our preferred WordPress shopping cart solution.

3 – Stripe for WooCommerce by PaymentPlugins – a free Stripe plugin for WooCommerce.

4 – Kount with Stripe for WooCommerce – our plugin that integrates Kount with WooCommerce and Stripe.

How do I use Kount with Stripe for WooCommerce

Follow these steps to install and use our plugin.

Install and configure Stripe Payments by PaymentPlugins

1.1 – Search the WordPress repository for ‘Stripe’

1.2 – Find the ‘Stripe for WooCommerce’ plugin made by ‘Payment Plugins’

1.3 – Install and activate the plugin.

1.4 – Connect your Stripe account on the ‘Settings’ page of the plugin

2 – Install Kount with Stripe for WooCommerce

2.1 – On the ‘Plugins’ page press on ‘Upload Plugin’

2.2 – Upload the ZIP file that you received after the purchase in the form that showed up

2.3 – In the ‘Plugins’ list activate the plugin

2.4 – Test the first payment

At this step of the process you will need guidance from your Kount account manager on how to check the data that was sent and received by their platform

3 – Add the Kount credentials to the plugin

3.1 – Extract the archive in your local machine

3.2 – Navigate to the ‘vendor’ folder and then to the ‘kount-sdk’ folder and then to the ‘src’ folder

3.3 – Open the ‘settings.ini’ file using your favorite text editor

3.4 – Add the ‘MERCHANT_ID’, ‘CONFIG_KEY’, ‘URL’ and ‘API_KEY’ values that you received from your Kount account manager
